Context

The new team OrganoSculpt at Amidex Marseille recruits a dynamic and enthusiastic
research/etude engineer in optical instrumentation development. The candidate will be part
of a Chaire of Excellence program in the development of new technologies to control and
image organoid development (Liver and Gastruloids). The Program is led by V. Viasnoff, a
CNRS research director and professor at the University of Singapore. It leverages on single
objective Spim (soSPIM) technology and biofunctionalized scaffold for HCS imaging of
organoids. The team is part of CENTURI, an interdisciplinary consortium on Mechanobiology
on Marseille Luminy campus. The diversity of the research leaves room for the engineer to
exploit her/his skills as well as to acquire new ones. It is run collaboration with IINS in
Bordeaux and the MechanoBiology institute in Singapore.

Mission

The candidate is expected to be in charge of most of the following items:

  • To maintain the existing SoSPIM instrument
  • To build the next generation of the instrument (HCS format)
  • To perform state of the image acquisition and image analysis
  • To expand the capabilities of the culture systems using fluidics in partnership with the
    Centuri and Planet platforms.
  • To participate to the commercialization strategy of the platform.
  • To participate to the scientific discussions in the lab
  • To be in charge of the lab instruments management.

Profil

The candidate should have obtained an engineer or masters in a field related to optics and
instrumentation. PhD holders will also qualify.
Proven experience in academic or R&D environment will be considered favorably.
High motivation, curiosity, commitment, reporting & communication skills are must haves.
